The Q-VU Beginner’s Kit includes everything that is needed for a beginner
to go out and take stereo pictures and view the results ... in standard Holmes
format ... in an hour or two. It is important to note that this kit contain a
Holmes format stereo viewer. This is the "open sesame" for the new
owner of the kit to get started into the wonderful legacy of over 150 years of
stereo photography in this format.

Camera: 35 mm Loreo Discovery Camera, with snap-on sunshade and carrying
case.
Stereoscope: Holmes Format ’Scope from Feng Ching
Stereo Viewcards: Pack of 12 reproduction litho viewcards
Stereo Mounts: Mini Pack of 12 Q-VU X mounts
Consumables: Roll of 35 mm color print film and 2 AA batteries for the
camera

The kit is available from Q-VU from $89.99 CA add tax. Add $10.00
p & h. Upgrades are available to a standard Realist stereo camera and/or a
vintage viewer. Write or e-mail for details.
There are not many of these kits remaining. When supplies of the Discovery
camera are exhausted, we will be substituting other 3-D cameras. These cameras
are more expensive, and so the price of the kit will increase. We also offer the
kit with a Kodak or Realist camera. The Feng Ching Holmes stereoscope has
recently been discontinued by the Chinese manufacturer, so when supplies of it
are exhausted, we will substitute another similar scope.
The Beginner’s Kit allows the newcomer to get his feet wet in stereo
photography at a bargain basement price. It is something the "old
hand" could buy and give to a friend, relative, or young admirer of stereo
photography!
Everything you need to get started … in about an hour …. is in the box.
In the manila envelope at the back, right in the photo, is a Sample Kit. This is introductory
information we send to people interested in using Q-VUs. It includes
instructions on taking stereo pictures, samples of the different kinds of Q-VUs,
etc. See the "Sample Kit" section of the website. In front of the
Sample Kit envelope is a set of "X" Q-VU mounts for you to get started
with your first viewcards.
At left in the photo is the Loreo Discovery camera, and alongside it, a roll of film.
Fanned out at right and center are viewcards from a set of reproduction
turn-of-the-century views. In the center is a Holmes type stereoscope. This
particular unit has been restored to usable status from a flea market
"basket case."
